JOB TITLE: LEADMAN; AUTOMOTIVE FLEET MANAGER
SALARY LEVEL: Salary level to be commensurate with experience.
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
REPORTS TO: Director; Maintenance and Construction, Supervisor; Maintenance and Construction; Chief-Leadman Automotive Fleet Manager.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).


LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outdoor weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat (including direct sunlight). The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly required to work in, around and near equipment that can present a risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The employee may occasionally be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned. The employee
will be required to work in close relation to the Maintenance Director, Supervisor and Department Foremen. The employee must be reliable, dependable, and require minimum supervision. The employee must be neat in their appearance, courteous, and tactful in dealing with student, staff, other employees, or the general public.

 

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Employee shall be responsible for providing support to the Chief-Lead Automotive Fleet Manager for all ordering of replacement/repair inventory required by Mechanic's Shop.


2. Employee shall be responsible for providing support to the Chief-Lead Automotive Fleet Manager in conducting and maintaining all preventive maintenance schedules on all fleet vehicles.


3. Employee shall provide support to the Chief-Lead Automotive Fleet Manager in the monitoring and ordering of fuel (gasoline/diesel) as required. Monthly, must submit fuel report


4. Employee shall provide support to the Chief-Lead Automotive Fleet Manager in managing and updating the daily purchases made from all vendor accounts assigned to the Fleet Mechanics


5. Employee will be required to provide support and assistance in purchasing, maintaining, and accounting for all inventory used in by the fleet mechanics. The employee will also be required assist in the submission of a detailed inventory account yearly.


6. Must perform as part of an overall maintenance team working for the timely completion of all assigned tasks, and at times working in different departments.


7. Shall on occasion, work in close relationship with Director, Maintenance and Construction and/or Supervisor, Maintenance and Construction, and the Chief-Lead Automotive Fleet Manager in the budgeting, maintenance, repair, and installation of automotive equipment.


8. Employee must be available for unscheduled, emergency calls.


9. Employee must provide a reasonable method of communications during unscheduled emergency situations with Director of Maintenance, Supervisor of Maintenance, Chief-Lead Automotive Fleet Manager, Foremen and other authorized Maintenance/Operations staff members.

 

10. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Director or Maintenance Supervisor.
