REPORTS TO:             CHILD NUTRITION SITE SUPERVISOR

 

FLSA STATUS:            Non-Exempt

 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  1. Follows time/task schedule assigned by the supervisor.
  2. Clean-up, serving, and dish room tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  3. Assists cook and supervisor if and when necessary.  Helps put up food and supplies or delivery.
  4. Is flexible and willing to work where ever needed.
  5. Follows directions of supervisor.
  6. Performs tasks assigned by the supervisor without having to be continually reminded.
  7. Works cooperatively with all kitchen staff.
  8. Works cooperatively with the site principal, custodians, teachers, students and parents.
  9. Works cooperatively with all maintenance, warehouse, and delivery people.
  10. Works cooperatively with all Child Nutrition office staff.
  11. Works cooperatively with all members of Central Office Administration.
  12. Works cooperatively with the Supervisor of Child Nutrition Programs.
  13. Contributes to the harmonious atmosphere of the kitchen.
  14. Performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
