POSITION SUMMARY:
Employee may occasionally be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must clear all necessary criminal and vehicular background checks.
- Must possess and maintain a current Oklahoma license for motor vehicles.
- Must maintain confidential information of sensitive nature.
- Must be available for unscheduled, emergency calls.
- Shall provide a reasonable method of communication during unscheduled, emergency situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The employee shall be responsible for the daily field operations of the Cabinetry Department.
2. Employee must be reliable, dependable and require minimum supervision. Neatness in
appearance, courteous and tactful in dealing with other employees or the general public.
3. Employee will be required to build, repair, and install counters, cabinets, benches, partitions,
floors, doors, building framework, and trim.
4. Must be very professional and maintain confidential information of sensitive nature. Must also
currently possess and maintain a current Oklahoma Operator’s License for motor vehicles.
Must also have a clean driving record.
5. Frequently, must set up and operate woodworking machines to include but not be limited to, power
saws, jointers, radial arm saws, drill presses, band saws, air powered tools, sanding machines and
all other power tools necessary to perform the job.
6. Shall be required to work with other departments within the Maintenance and Construction
Department when deemed necessary by the Department Foreman. Shall be required to assist
in the installation of glass in windows, doors and partitions. Shall be required to assist in the
replacement and installation of insulatin materials in building framework as well as roofs. Shall
be required to assist in the replacement of damaged ceiling tiles, floor tile and wall covering.
7. Must exhibit good communications skills towards Principals, Teachers, Food Service Personnel,
Custodians and students. Must perform as part of an overall maintenance team working for
the timely completion of all assigned tasks, and at times working in different departments.
Should be skilled in proper time management. Should develop a working knowledge of vendors,
purchase orders, work orders, and call-in work requests.
8. Employee should be skilled in the driving of nails or other fasteners into joints at designated places
to reinforce joints as well as the sanding and scraping of surfaces and joints of articles to prepare
them for installation or finishing.
9. Must be skilled in blueprint and representative drawings interpretation of buildings to include
structural and detailed framing plans. Must also be able to work from drawings representative
of shelving, cabinets and other furniture when building projects.
10. Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.
LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold (including outdoors), extreme heat (including direct sunlight), risk of electrical shock and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud.
To ensure continuity of services, remote work may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for remote work will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for remote work will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.
