SALARY SCHEDULE:         SCHEDULE Y

 

DEPARTMENT:                  MAINTENANCE

 

FLSA STATUS:                   NON-EXEMPT

 

SAFETY-SENSITIVE:         YES

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The employee will be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned. The employee will be required to work in close relation to his/her peers and all other Mid-Del employees.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Currently licensed and in good standing as an Electrical Journeyman with the following; Oklahoma State Department of Health Electrical Division, City of Oklahoma City, City of Midwest City and City of Del City

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  1. Regularly must work from steel pole, scissor lift, aerial bucket truck, etc. at heights not to exceed 110’.

 

  1. On occasion must work in confined spaces above, below, or at ground level.

 

  1. Plans layout of wiring and installation of wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus inside and outside buildings.

 

  1. Must currently possess and maintain a current Oklahoma Operators License for motor vehicles. The employee must also have a clean driving record.

 

  1. Will on occasion be required to work overtime hours as determined by the Director of Maintenance or the Supervisor of Maintenance.

 

  1. Employee will need complete understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and its applications. Employee shall also possess a complete knowledge of all state and local codes.

 

  1. Employee shall have a complete knowledge of all fire and life safety codes.

 

  1. Must be available for unscheduled, emergency call.

 

  1. Employee must provide a reasonable method of communication during unscheduled emergency situations with Electrical Foreman, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Director, as well as other authorized Maintenance staff members.

 

  1. Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.

 

 

 

LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR SKILLS: 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.

 

REASONING ABILITY: 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles.  The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions.  The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold (including outdoors), extreme heat (including direct sunlight), risk of electrical shock and vibration.

 

The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud.

 

To ensure continuity of services, remote work may be necessary in the event of a health crisis or disruptive situation that requires the closing of school and/or office buildings. An employee’s eligibility for remote work will be determined by the superintendent of schools. Expectations and guidelines for remote work will be distributed by the employee’s supervisor, based on his/her role and responsibilities.
