JOB DESCRIPTION:           AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTOR

 

SALARY SCHEDULE:          TTC INSTRUCTOR – 247 DAYS (BASE SALARY BEGINNING AT $52,750)

 

DEPARTMENT:                    MDTC – TINKER TECHNOLOGY CENTER

 

FLSA STATUS:                     NON-EXEMPT

 

SAFETY-SENSITIVE:           YES

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Instruct trainees in general aircraft mechanics skills and knowledge through classroom theory, and demonstration.  Teach classroom theory, demonstrates, and supervises student practice.  MDTC is true to their core values.  We are loyal to our mission, our stakeholders and each other. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of journeyman aircraft maintenance experience
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal skills and organizational skills

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  1. Assist with developing and updating the curriculum as required.
  2. Stay current with Tech Data and review T.O. regulations, demonstrate the use of Technical Orders/E-Tools.
  3. Teach all subject matter with an organized lesson plan.
  4. Complete student evaluations, all paperwork, and necessary reports.
  5. Maintain training aides in good working condition.
  6. Maintain cleanliness in the classroom, instructor office, TO library, and shop areas.
  7. Mentor and assist other instructors as needed.
  8. Be willing to travel to various sites to conduct classes on and off TAFB.
  9. Be able to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other software programs as needed.
  10. Additional duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or above.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before the customer and staff.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. 

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.
